Meet the SMTC Team! 

Priscilla Smith Director

Priscilla Smith   (Founder, Director, Teacher) teaches Voice,  Musical Theater, and Dance to children and adults. Priscilla has had a passion for teaching and the performing arts since she was a child. She has a diverse background in the Arts and has performed in many musicals on stages across Europe including the Frankfurt Opera house and Playhouse.  Priscilla studied Voice and Musical Theater at Berklee College of Music and The Boston Conservatory, is a  certified Kindermusik instructor and has studied Estill Voice Training.  She also enjoyed being a professional Industrial Singer in NYC and has recorded 5 albums ranging from Jazz, Musical Theater, to R&B/ Pop and has worked in NYC as a professional commercial singer.  As a member of a Jazz/ Hip Hop Dance company (Jam Crew) in Washington DC, she danced and taught  Jazz, Tap, and Funk/Hip Hop for many years through the DARE DANCE program in inner city schools.   She has been working with children and adult students for over 20 years as a musical theater, voice, and dance teacher and has been the director of The Annapolis Musical Theater Company for 16 years.  She is excited to open her second location in Sarasota.  She loves working with the individual and class to develop and strengthen their technique and confidence as performers, but most of all she loves bringing joy to people of all ages through the magic of theater. 

Jetta Earle-Smith Assistant Director

Jetta Earle-Smith  (Assistant Director, Vocal Coach/Counselor)

 

Jetta  has been studying voice, dance & theatre for over 10 years with AMTC in Maryland.  She has performed in many theater productions. Some of her  favorite roles have been Cinderella in "Into the Woods" and Nancy in "Oliver".  She has studied Musical Theater, Dance and  Voice with AMTC, Carrie U. Voice Institute in NYC, CTA, Sherry's Dance studio, Sarasota Contemporary Dance, and Voix Vocal Studio. Jetta is also a songwriter and loves working with children. She has been teaching musical theater to children ages 4 - 12 for 3 years and loves singing and dancing. She is passionate about sharing that love with others.

Josh King (Director, Vocal Coach/Counselor)

 

Introducing our latest Director, Mr. Josh King! A distinguished graduate of the AMTC program, Josh has contributed to numerous theatrical productions such as Seussical, Into the Woods, and Annie. Currently pursuing his studies in Music Composition at Berklee College of Music Online, Josh brings a wealth of artistic insight to our esteemed organization. From an early age, Josh has harbored a profound appreciation for the performing arts. Recognizing the transformative potential of artistic expression, he passionately believes that the stage is one of the best platforms for individuals to manifest their inner artist. Beyond his theatrical endeavors, Josh dedicates a significant portion of his time to playing piano and writing music. His compositions can be found on all major streaming platforms under the name Joshua Lee King, reflecting the breadth of his musical talent. In assuming the directorial responsibilities at AMTC, Josh is steadfast in his commitment to perpetuating the legacy of the organization. His primary focus is on nurturing and developing young artists, instilling in them a sense of pride and confidence in their abilities. Overcoming initial confidence challenges through the support and training of AMTC, he has not only performed before diverse audiences nationwide but has also achieved global recognition with his music resonating with listeners around the world. In Mr. Josh King, AMTC is privileged to welcome a director who not only brings a wealth of experience but also embodies the spirit of artistic growth and empowerment. We look forward to the continued success and artistic brilliance under his esteemed leadership.

Erica Yamaner Choreographer

Erica Yamaner (Choreographer/Counselor) has studied musical theater at AMTC  for over 8 years. Last year was her first year as a choreographer and camp counselor at AMTC Summer Camp. Erica loves dance and has been a part of the Performing and Visual Arts program for the past 5 years. She loves being behind the scenes just as much as being on the stage and enjoys seeing all her kids find their love for theater. AMTC camp has been the highlight of her summer since the very first "Into the Woods". She has played Dorothy in AMTC's "The Wiz!" in 2016, Little Red in AMTC's "Into The Woods" in 2018, as well Lily St.Regis in AMTC's "Annie" in 2019. She loves watching all the new shining stars find their passions and enjoys watching them grow from year to year. She loves to share the beauty and acceptance she has found in dance and theater with all her campers. Her other credits include, The Baroness in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"(Children's Theater of Annapolis) Featured dancer in The Children's Theater's productions of "Beauty and the Beast" and "Peter Pan." Dance Captain in "Tarzan" (CTA) As well as selected choreographer for the Annapolis high school PVA showcase. She looks forward to teaching again this summer and is so excited to see all the smiling faces!

Megan King Teaching artist

Ms. Megan  (Teaching Artist)

Megan King is a budding theater artist currently in her Senior year of college studying her craft at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. She has been both a student and a staff member for AMTC's summer camp for several years. She was the Assistant Director for Into the Woods, Jr. in 2017 and for Oliver!, Jr. in 2018. This year she will again serve as the Assistant Director and Teacher at camp. She loves showing kids the beauty and wonder of storytelling as well as helping them discover and develop their skills in acting, voice, and dance. Working with these children has inspired her to continue learning her craft in order to spark interest in the performing arts in others. Some of her favorite performance credits include Glinda in The Wiz (AMTC's Summer Camp); Archibald, Earl of Douglass in Shakespeare's Henry IV; and the Bellboy in Titanic the Musical. Some of her backstage credits including working as the Lighting technician for Ile by Eugene O'Neil, the Lighting Designer for The Dancers by Horton Foote, and Stage Crew for The Rainmaker by N. Richard Nash. She is very excited to have lots of fun with the children again this summer.

Bobby Weston (Set Designer / Counselor)

Meet Bobby Weston, our Set Designer and Counselor! Bobby is a natural-born actor, channeling his passion for building and artistic skills into creating mesmerizing sets. His proficiency as a skilled welder and blacksmith adds depth to his craftsmanship. Beyond his creative talents, Bobby is passionate about building confidence in campers. With his innate acting abilities, he inspires young performers and artists to discover their strengths while fostering a sense of self-assurance. Join us for a musical theater camp where Bobby's artistic expertise and dedication to nurturing confidence shine, creating an environment where campers thrive both creatively and personally!

Shay Hall  (Summer Camp Jr. Director) 

Shay Hall is beloved by all of the campers.  She grew up in the AMTC camp as a camper for seven years and has grown into an amazing Camp counselor for the past 5 years. Ms. Shay is a student at Mount St mays University where she studies early education and phycology. She gives so much attention to each and every one of her students. Each year Ms. Shay teaches each of her students how to find their confidence and show their individuality on stage. Ms. Shay herself loves theater and has been dancing for as long as she can remember. AMTC’s summer camp has been a highlight of her summers since she was a little girl. Watching each of her students grow up each year and finding their place in theater has always been such a rewarding part of the job. She is thrilled for more fun-filled summers at camp!
